Bristol Balloons have become
an integral part of the Bristol skyline and our pilots were
the first to fly from Ashton Court, Bristol in 1975.
Imagine seeing the historic
City of Bristol from a completely different perspective! Floating
gently aloft and viewing it's well known landmarks such as
Brunel's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Harbourside
and the S.S Great Britain and The Mathew, Bristol Zoo, Saint Mary Redciff Church, or Bristol Cathedral, Blaise Castle House Museum or Tyntesfield House
Flights are normally
arranged from our main launch site at Ashton Court Estate,
home of the "International Balloon Fiesta" an annual event
where more than 100 brightly coloured and special shaped balloons
take to the skies!
Date for the next Bristol Balloon Fiesta
Thursday 9th - Sunday 12th August 2007
Founded in 1978 the Fiesta has a fascinating history. when Don Cameron, owner of the world's largest balloon manufacturer, Cameron Balloons, decided to create an event that would draw together balloonists from around the world.
A small gathering of like-minded balloonists came together to celebrate what was to become the first ever Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. Organised by the British Junior Chamber of Commerce and Shipping, the Fiesta was held at the popular ballooning location, Ashton Court.
From this small beginning, the Fiesta has grown year after year, flourishing into what has become Europe's largest free festival., with over 100 balloons attending and expected crowds of over 500,000 people.
